Overview
I was part of the team that spearheaded the end-to-end development and on-site deployment of high-impact touchscreen kiosks for AstraZeneca at multiple AMCP conferences. These solutions were engineered to transform passive trade show attendance into active, measurable engagement through a combination of sensory innovation and rapid-response technical architecture.
The Challenge: High-Velocity Cross-Platform Deployment
A primary technical hurdle involved the "porting" of complex kiosk environments into a mobile-ready iPad format under an extremely compressed timeline.
- Rapid Migration: I architected a development pipeline that allowed for the transition of high-fidelity desktop logic into a stable, touch-optimized mobile framework.
- Operational Agility: Meeting these short turnarounds required intense time commitments and a "zero-failure" approach to planning and organization. I synchronized the efforts of my development team to ensure a functional, polished product was delivered on schedule.
Functional Innovation: The Pipeline & Survey Engine
One specialized kiosk served as a dynamic "living document" of AstraZeneca's therapeutic assets.
- Parametric Data Visualization: I designed a tool that allowed users to sort and filter the AstraZeneca drug pipeline based on specific criteria such as drug type and clinical status.
- Integrated Lead Capture: I implemented a survey engine that invited users to contribute data directly through the interface, providing a streamlined way to capture interest from conference attendees as they navigated the exhibit floor.
- Interaction Tracking: Beyond the visual appeal, I leveraged a robust analytics layer to track exactly how users navigated the presentation. This allowed us to objectively gauge the effectiveness of the kiosk and understand which clinical content resonated most with the audience.
Full-Lifecycle Leadership and On-Site Support
As the project lead, I managed the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), acting as the primary liaison between the client, creative teams, and external hardware vendors.
- Vendor & Hardware Selection: I researched, selected, and managed the specialized touchscreen vendors required to execute these high-fidelity solutions.
- Design Stewardship: I was instrumental in the conceptualization and requirements phases, taking direct responsibility for the technical innovations employed within the kiosks.
- Live Event Reliability: I provided on-site technical support for the duration of the AMCP conferences. My presence was critical in resolving real-time logistical issues and technical troubleshooting, ensuring 100% uptime during the live events.
Key Insight: These kiosks represent the transition from "display" to "dialogue." By combining a sensory-rich "WOW" factor with a backend data-extraction engine, I provided AstraZeneca with a transparent, documented look at their audience's interests while maintaining a high-performance presence in a competitive congress environment.
