Overview
When Angy Soap, a specialized manufacturer and importer of 100% olive oil soap, sought to penetrate the United States market, I was engaged to architect their digital storefront and brand presence. I transformed a niche international product into a localized, educational e-commerce platform designed to drive both awareness and conversion.
Strategic Web Design and Brand Localization
I led the conceptualization and execution of a new web infrastructure that balanced commercial utility with consumer education.
- The Educational Hook: I designed the interface to move beyond simple product listings, incorporating high-value content that educates the U.S. consumer on the dermatological benefits of olive oil.
- Market Positioning: I translated the brand's traditional heritage into a modern digital experience, ensuring the site effectively communicated the premium nature of the imported merchandise.
Full-Stack Technical Implementation
I took 100% ownership of the technical development lifecycle, ensuring a lean and performant site architecture.
- Core Programming: I engineered the platform using a stack of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, integrating legacy Flash components to enhance interactive elements.
- Infrastructure & DNS: I architected the hosting environment from the ground up, managing the full installation, server configuration, and DNS mapping to ensure 100% site stability and reach.
Content Strategy and Creative Direction
To ensure the brand's voice was consistent and professional, I acted as both the lead copywriter and creative director.
- Editorial Ownership: I authored the majority of the site's copy and performed rigorous editing on client-supplied materials to ensure they met domestic market standards.
- Visual Asset Engineering: I conducted principal product photography for the merchandise and performed professional retouching and editing on all client-supplied imagery to ensure a high-fidelity visual aesthetic.
Integrated E-Commerce Architecture
The primary goal was to create a "frictionless" path to purchase.
- Conversion Optimization: I structured the site to lead users from education (benefits) to action (purchase) within a unified, transparent user flow.
- Scalable Framework: The backend was configured to allow for easy updates to the product catalog as Angy Soap expanded its U.S. inventory.
Key Insight: For a boutique importer, the website is the primary bridge to a new market. By combining full-stack technical development with original product photography and strategic copywriting, I provided Angy Soap with a professional, documented, and revenue-ready platform that stands as their definitive U.S. headquarters.
